In developing St. Stephen’s Missional Objectives, a desire was expressed to offer training to help people deal with grief. Two workshops are offered, and all are welcome to attend one or both workshops, which will be at St. Stephen’s.
Dealing with Grief Workshop 7:00 pm Wednesday April 15. Grief touches everyone at some point in their life. There will be an interactive presentation exploring grief and how it affects us. We will also look at how we can support others through the grief journey. This will be led by the Rev’d Barbara Fugelsang, retired as a Spiritual Care Specialist at St. Joseph’s Care Group.
Listening Skills Workshop 7:00 pm Wednesday April 29. This will be led by the Rev’d Canon Ed Swayze. The content is based on material developed for the Calling and Caring Ministry by Dr. John Savage. It is good training for lay visitors. It teaches active listening skills, which can be used to respond to people who are working through their grief.
